Potential Benefits for Hormones

May Offer PMS Relief

Anectdotally, some individuals have reported that CBD suppositories may offer relief from the discomfort and mood swings associated with PMS. CBD's anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties could ease cramps and muscle tension, while its anxiolytic effects may help stabilize mood swings.

May Manage Endometriosis

Some studies suggest that CBD suppositories might inhibit the growth of endometrial cells outside the uterus, potentially offering a means to slow down the progression of the condition. Additionally, CBD may interact with the endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in regulating pain perception and immune responses.

May Support Menopause

CBD suppositories may assist women going through menopause by helping to manage common symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances. CBD's potential to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation can contribute to a smoother transition through this life stage.

CBD Suppositories Targeted to Balance Hormones

For individuals with a cervix, hormones play a significant role in daily well-being. Whether influenced by birth control, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or the demands of our fast-paced world, hormone imbalances can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, challenging periods, mood swings, IBS, brain fog, and low libido.

CBD suppositories offer a holistic approach for individuals navigating the challenges of hormonal fluctuations. A dose of CBD may alleviate symptoms associated with hormone imbalances— and so should be considered a potential natural hormone balancer.

Why CBD Suppositories?

Suppositories have the highest bioavailability ~94%. The reason doctors don't prescribe all drugs this way is that oral dosing is more convenient, and people are weird about putting things in their bums.

Simply put bioavailability refers to how much CBD will be absorbed, how quickly you feel the CBD, and how long the Body Bliss lasts.

Almost all of the CBD is absorbedA recent study showed that 94% of paracetamol was absorbed when administered rectally, compared to 37% when administered orally. Unlike a capsule, this method bypasses the stomach, intestine, and liver where it will most likely be eliminated.

A CBD suppository is absorbed fast —It immediately enters the bloodstream through the large veins in your bottom. It moves from the bloodstream to the tissues and cells and binds to receptors, and gets to work. There is no waiting for it to make its way through your digestion, it is instant.

These can last up to 24hours as it takes longer for your body to metabolize CBD when combined with a fatty acid, in this case we chose Coconut Oil.

Your Questions, Answered.

Hormone Balance: CBD works with the body's endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate various processes, including hormones. While studies are ongoing, they suggest that CBD may have a modulating effect on hormonal activity.

PMS Relief: CBD could positively influence hormonal fluctuations associated with the menstrual cycle, easing the up and downs of moods, fatigue, cravings and overall 'life' tenderness.

Cortisol Regulation: CBD is known for its anxiolytic (anxiety-reducing) properties. By interacting with receptors in the endocannabinoid system. A reduction in anxiety could influence cortisol levels, as anxiety is a primary trigger for cortisol release.

Reduce Stress: CBD is known for its potential to reduce stress and anxiety. Chronic stress can impact hormone levels, and by promoting relaxation, CBD may indirectly support hormone balance.

Improved Sleep: Good sleep is crucial for hormone health. CBD's potential to improve sleep might indirectly help balance hormones, as many hormones are regulated during the sleep-wake cycle. Adequate and quality sleep is essential for cortisol regulation, and by improving sleep, CBD may contribute to a healthier circadian rhythm.

Vaginal Dryness or Discomfort: Mello Flo CBD suppositories include ingredients that contribute to vaginal health, offering moisture and potentially easing dryness or discomfort.

Endometriosis: If a woman has endometriosis, a condition where tissue similar to the uterus lining grows outside the uterus, CBD suppositories could be considered for targeted relief. CBD's anti-inflammatory effects may help manage the pain linked to endometriosis.

Pelvic Pain: Women dealing with pelvic pain, whether due to health issues or post-surgery, might find relief using CBD suppositories. Applying it directly targets the pain in the pelvic area.

Period Relief: Some women use CBD suppositories to ease period cramps and pelvic discomfort in the lower belly. CBD's properties may lessen the pain and swelling that come with periods.

Bladder Health: For women with bladder issues, CBD's anti-inflammatory effects could be explored to manage symptoms.

Yes we think so, because they offer:

Rapid Relief: Simply, CBD Suppositories reach your bloodstream faster. They're absorbed almost right away, so you feel the effects fast. Plus, they have a delayed release, which makes the good feelings last longer, giving you a more extended and enjoyable experience.

Localized Relief: CBD suppositories provide targeted relief to the pelvic region, making them suitable for addressing conditions such as menstrual cramps, pelvic pain, and endometriosis.

Avoiding Digestive Tract: For women who may experience gastrointestinal issues or difficulty swallowing pills, during their hormone cycles, suppositories offer an alternative route that bypasses the digestive tract.

Our CBD suppositories are small, bullet-shaped capsules designed to be inserted into the rectum or the vagina, allowing for the absorption of CBD into the bloodstream.

The rectal route is commonly used for CBD suppositories, as it provides a direct path to the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system and potentially avoiding first-pass metabolism in the liver. This can result in quicker absorption and a more efficient delivery of CBD to the body.

If you prefer vaginal absorption, it functions similarly. However, we caution against this method if you have a fragile vaginal flora.

Once inserted, the warmth of your body dissolves the suppository, and the CBD is absorbed through the mucous membranes. The rich network of blood vessels in the rectum or vagina allows for relatively quick absorption into the bloodstream.

CBD then circulates in the bloodstream, reaching various tissues and organs throughout the body. Its interaction with the endocannabinoid system and other receptors contributes to the therapeutic effects associated with CBD.

  1. Rapid Absorption: Suppositories allow for the rapid absorption of CBD into the bloodstream — the effects kick in faster than if taken orally.
  2. Avoids Liver Processing: Unlike swallowing CBD, which has to go through your liver first, a suppository skips this step. This means a higher proportion of the actual dose of CBD reaches your body, doing its job without getting slowed down.
  3. Consistent Bioavailability: Suppositories keep a steady concentration of CBD in the bloodstream, potentially leading to a more reliable therapeutic effect over time.
  4. Localized Treatment: Suppositories are great if you want to focus on one area, like soothing inflammation or discomfort in the pelvic region. They deliver the CBD right where you need it.
  5. Suitable for Individuals with Gastrointestinal Issues: If your stomach isn't a fan of CBD or you have trouble swallowing pills, suppositories are a handy alternative. No need to deal with digestive issues.

This is simply about personal preference. You can insert these into your rectum, or if you own a cervix, into your vagina. We prefer the anal route. However, the choice between the rectum and the vagina does not impact absorption, as both areas have ample mucous membranes and a rich network of blood vessels linked to the bloodstream.

Frankly, it's much easier than you think. Your bottom tends to draw them in. Once you're in a comfortable position and have applied sufficient lubrication, you only need to insert the tip, and your bottom takes care of the rest.

Research on this specific aspect is limited, and it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice.

Potential interactions exist, emphasizing the importance of consulting with a healthcare provider, especially for those on hormonal medications.

Onset times can vary, but generally within 5-15 minutes after insertion.
